Estonian-Croatian defense technology startup Vegvisir, which develops an advanced ultra-low latency 360-degree Situational Awareness System for both manned and unmanned vehicles, has received funding of €650k from Lithuanian venture capital fund Scalewolf.
Vegvisir’s cutting-edge visual system gives vehicle operators the ability to see in all directions at once — enhancing visibility, safety, and tactical decision-making in real-time combat environments.
“We offer a truly unique solution — no one has solved the latency issue at this level. The live video feed from our cameras to the operator’s goggles is near-instantaneous, avoiding motion sickness. This speed is the defining feature of our system, and currently, there is no equivalent on the market,” said Ingvar Pärnamäe, CEO of Vegvisir.
Vegvisir’s situational awareness system is built around three key products: Vegvisir Core, the in-vehicle solution providing 360-degree visibility and real-time data overlays for vehicle crews; Vegvisir Remote, which extends this awareness to dismounted units and remote operators; and the Virtual Command Station — a modular extension that allows commanders to monitor battlefield conditions remotely and coordinate unit movements through the same immersive interface. Together, this integrated ecosystem empowers both on-the-ground personnel and decision-makers with synchronized, high-fidelity battlefield awareness.
“Over the last year, we have signed two contracts and sold our products to the Australian Army as part of their M113 modernization project,” Pärnamäe noted. “In addition to growing international interest, we’re actively engaged in pilot programs and evaluation phases with several allied defense forces.”
The investment was led by Scalewolf, a Lithuanian venture capital firm specializing in early-stage defense, security, and deep-tech startups across the Baltic and Central European regions. The fund focuses on companies developing dual-use technologies with strong commercial and strategic potential.
A representative from Scalewolf, Edvinas Kerza, Scalewolf’s Managing Partner, stated: “Scalewolf’s decision to invest in Vegvisir reflects its confidence in the startup’s technological capabilities and its potential to redefine armored vehicle operations globally.”
“Regional support and network are extremely important to us. We look forward to potential future collaborations with the Lithuanian Defense Forces to further develop and deploy our situational awareness solutions,” Pärnamäe added.
Founded by experts in military technology and virtual reality, Vegvisir is an Estonian-Croatian defense company focused on enhancing battlefield awareness through real-time data visualization. The company’s mission is to empower defense forces with the tools needed to operate with greater clarity, speed, and confidence in complex environments.
