The MoU establishes a framework for strategic collaboration focused on integrating artificial intelligence with mixed reality situational awareness systems, with the goal of exploring advanced capabilities that enhance decision-making, operational safety, and user effectiveness in complex environments.

Protostar Labs is the R&D company based in Osijek and Belišće, Croatia, developing advanced vision systems and edge AI solutions for both space systems and industrial applications. The company specializes in AI-enabled onboard data processing, edge computing, multispectral imaging, and real-time autonomous systems designed for mission-critical performance.

Under the MoU, the parties intend to explore areas such as:

  • Integration of AI algorithms with Vegvisir’s mixed reality situational awareness platform for rapid data interpretation and decision support
  • Joint development of intuitive, AI-enhanced user interfaces for armored vehicles, unmanned systems, and mobile command posts
  • Exploration of AI-based object detection, tracking, and predictive analytics
  • Evaluation of multispectral camera systems to enhance sensor fusion and operational effectiveness
  • Concepts for dispersed and discreet command-and-control configurations in modern operational scenarios

Through this collaboration, Vegvisir and Protostar Labs aim to explore how complementary expertise in AI, sensing, and visualization can support future situational awareness and decision-support capabilities, particularly in defense and other high-risk operational domains.

This MoU reflects a mutual commitment to proactive collaboration, technical knowledge exchange, and joint evaluation activities as both companies assess potential paths toward future innovation.
