Vegvisir will unveil Vegvisir Virtual Command Station at IDEX 2025, a groundbreaking VR based command solution. that redefines fleet management and command & control operations. By replacing traditional screens with an interactive, highly collaborative, and compact virtual workspace, the system enhances decision-making and operational efficiency across various command environments, from infantry fighting vehicles to larger command centers.
According to Vegvisir’s CEO Ingvar Pärnamäe, the Vegvisir Virtual Command Station is the company’s third product that ties all previous systems together into a unified Vegvisir concept.
“With Vegvisir Core, we gave manned platforms a see-through-armor capability. With Vegvisir Remote, we brought this innovation to unmanned and optionally manned assets, enabling first-person view (FPV) capabilities for ground vehicles. Now, with the Vegvisir Virtual Command Station, we are advancing fleet management and multi-domain integration by seamlessly fusing different data streams,” said Ingvar Pärnamäe, CEO of Vegvisir.
“As we enter an untapped market with this innovation, we are confident in its strong potential. Acquiring the Vegvisir Virtual Command Station offers both platform manufacturers and defense forces the opportunity to embrace a future-ready vision that stays ahead of the curve,” he added.
Vegvisir Revolutionizes Command and Control
As the system is based on head-mounted displays, it replaces traditional command setups with “virtual screens” that integrate real-time data from Battlefield Management Systems (BMSs), sensors, and modern battlefield assets, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs).
This allows commanders to seamlessly process mission-critical information from multiple sources at once, enhancing situational awareness and decision-making. The system also supports multi-user collaboration, providing a unified operational view for synchronized team coordination.

Compact, Quick to Set Up, Easy to Use – Key Benefits
The Vegvisir Virtual Command Station is designed for rapid deployment with a low logistical footprint, making it highly adaptable to missions of any size and in any environment. It is particularly well-suited for armored personnel carriers (APCs), infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), and other compact, mobile, or temporary operational spaces where traditional command setups are impractical.
The system replaces bulky hardware with a cost-effective setup using a Vegvisir Visor AR headset and a mission computer for full operation. This makes it an ideal solution for military operations, disaster relief missions, and mobile response teams, where space, speed, and adaptability are crucial.
Additionally, Vegvisir is introducing the world’s first human-machine interface system, combining head-mounted displays with the Vegvisir Mission Grip panel for control—a feature that ensures a consistent and intuitive user experience across all the company’s product lines.
Introducing the Vegvisir Interaction Concept
Vegvisir also presents a new interaction concept along with dedicated devices designed to maximize user efficiency within the Vegvisir Virtual Command Station and across its entire product line. The Vegvisir Visor and Vegvisir Mission Grip seamlessly integrate with the system, enhancing usability and performance through Vegvisir’s custom software engine and UI.

Shaped by Real Combat Needs
The conceptual approach was developed based on analyses of the War in Ukraine, which highlighted the need for highly mobile, low-footprint command systems capable of integrating inputs from multiple domains and data sources. During development, Vegvisir collaborated with the Estonian Defence Forces and conducted a custom pilot project prior to launch.

On the modern battlefield, systems are increasingly connected, and the overflow of information begins to reduce combat effectiveness and decision-making if not effectively handled. We have seen from the ongoing war in Ukraine that on one hand, technology is everywhere, and on the other hand, no matter how outdated the equipment, given enough quantity, it still has an impact on the battlefield.
